1 — For the past couple of years, I have been training an AI model to learn, and to appropriate frames from my family's home video collection. 2 — As a painter, I treat these AI-generated images as source material. Not as fully believed truths, but also not as false memories either. 3 — I am interested in the ineffable artifacts that accompany memory. 4 — I am more interested in exploring an array of subjectivities contained within the personal, than assuming the position of an individual. 5 — In Italo Calvino's novel Invisible Cities, Marco Polo always uses aspects of his home, Venice, to describe another fictional city. 6 — As a musician, I am magnetized by sound's power to locate me in relation to both physical and perceptual space. 7 — Art at its best can be an exercise in personal, perceptual location.
