Kevin Siwoff is an American artist whose interdisciplinary and non-hierarchical practice of painting, moving and still image, sound and performance, often touches on themes of place, identity, memory and perception. By mixing source material from his own family image archive with computer generated, as well as restaged reconstructions featuring fictionalized family members, his work further complicates the relationship between the real and the virtual.
Siwoff’s work has been exhibited, screened, and performed internationally, including Het Nieuwe Instituut, Rotterdam, NL (2022), Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, DE (2021), Montez Press Radio, South Kiosk Gallery, London, UK, (2020), 9To5: Works In Progress, Atlanta, USA (2017), New Museum IDEAS City Festival, NY, USA (2015), 14th International Architecture Biennale, Venice, IT (2014). He was a 2019 Visiting Artist at the American Academy in Rome and 2019 Visiting Artist Scholar at the Vittore Branca Center for the Study of Italian Culture in Venice, Italy. He earned an MA from the Royal College of Art in London.
